About The King’s Oak Tree, Tullamore

The King’s Oak Tree, located within Charleville Forest Estate, Tullamore, Co Offaly, Ireland, is thought to be between 400-900 years old. According to IrelandByways.com, the tree is “one of the biggest and oldest trees of its kind in the country, is believed to have stood for some 900 years. The Bury family believed that if a branch fell one of them would die, so they supported the great boughs with wooden props”. The tree was nominated for European Tree of the year in 2013.
